# FAQ

> Quick answers to common questions about using Pixwel.

  <Accordion title="Why can't I see a menu like Work Requests, Downloads, or Admin?">
    What you see depends on your [role and permissions](/features/user-roles). Menus appear only for the things your group has been granted. If something's missing that you expect, ask your Pixwel administrator to adjust your group's access.

  <Accordion title="What's the difference between a preview and a file?">
    A **preview** is a lightweight version for viewing inside Pixwel. A **file** is the full-resolution deliverable you download and distribute. Reviewing a preview isn't the same as having the delivered file. See [Projects, assets & files](/features/projects/files).

  <Accordion title="How do I order a localized version of an asset?">
    Place a [work request](/features/work-requests). You choose the territory, language, and what to localize (dialogue, narration, graphics), then track the order through its stages to delivery.

  <Accordion title="How do I send assets to someone outside my company?">
    [Share](/features/shares) them. If you have permission to invite guests, entering an unknown email address invites that person as a guest and emails them a link — they only see what you shared.

  <Accordion title="My downloads are slow. How do I get faster transfers?">
    Large files transfer fastest through Aspera. Today that's the Aspera Connect plugin; it's being replaced by the [Aspera Desktop](/features/aspera-desktop) app. Without it, downloads fall back to a slower standard browser download.

  <Accordion title="What do the work request statuses mean?">
    Orders move through Incomplete → Submitted → (Awaiting Materials) → In Progress → For Review → Approved → Complete, and can be Rejected or Cancelled. See [Work requests](/features/work-requests) for what each stage means.

  <Accordion title="Why is my ingest stuck on 'Waiting'?">
    A **Waiting** [ingest](/features/ingests) needs your input — usually to confirm or correct the project and asset it was matched to. Well-formed filenames let Pixwel match automatically; a misnamed file is more likely to wait for manual matching.

  <Accordion title="How do I get access to a project or studio?">
    Access comes from the [group](/features/admin/groups) you belong to. A Pixwel administrator adds you to the right group and grants its permissions.
